2024 – 2 Dollars Toonie Canada – RCAF

The 2024 Canadian $2 coin commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) features a detailed design that spans a century of RCAF missions, aircraft, and milestones. The uncolored version of this coin displays the RCAF roundel and the CC-130H Hercules in flight over a stylized conifer forest with the dates “1924” and “2024,” highlighting the centennial celebration. Surrounding the inner core on the outer ring are eight different aircraft historically significant to the RCAF, portrayed as viewed from above, symbolizing the evolution and diversity of the Air Force’s fleet. The coin’s outer ring also includes two virtual images of a maple leaf and security marks, emphasizing its status as official Canadian currency. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Steven Rosati, with corresponding inscriptions around the edge. The coin has a diameter of 28.03 mm and is composed with a three-ply nickel-plated steel outer ring and a three-ply brass-plated aluminum bronze inner core, all in a brilliant uncirculated finish.
