The obverse of the coin features the bust of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara, designed by Arnold Machin, while the reverse shows two maple leaves on the same twig, a design by G. E. Kruger-Gray. This coin was minted in a large quantity of over 701 million pieces and is non-magnetic with a medal alignment. Its inscription reads “ELIZABETH II D – G – REGINA” on the obverse and “1 CENT 1976 CANADA” on the reverse.
