The Kodak Vest Pocket Model B is a compact, folding film camera introduced by Eastman Kodak Company between 1925 and 1934, designed to fit easily into a coat pocket and popular for its portability. Its all-black metal body features a bellows system and a meniscus lens, with film loaded via a removable back—a notable improvement from earlier models. The camera uses 127 roll film to capture eight exposures of 1 5/8 by 2 1/2 inch images, and some versions included an autographic back, allowing photographers to inscribe notes directly on negatives using a built-in stylus. Simple controls include a rotary shutter with instant (approx. 1/30 sec) and time modes and four aperture settings from f/11 to f/32, with a swiveling viewfinder for portrait or landscape framing. Sleek, minimalist, and easy to operate, the Model B remains an iconic example of Kodak’s early effort to make photography more accessible and mobile.
