The obverse displays a left-facing bust of King George VI with the inscription “GEORGIVS VI D : G : REX ET IND : IMP :”, while the reverse shows the iconic caribou head design with the legend “CANADA 25 CENTS 1952.” It was minted by the Royal Mint and exists in two varieties: high relief with the “A’s” of GRATIA pointing to the denticles and low relief with the “A’s” of GRATIA pointing between the denticles, with a total mintage of 8,859,642 circulation coins.
