1976 – 25 Cents Quarter Canada

The 1976 Canadian 25-cent quarter features a classic design with a left-facing image of a Caribou head on the reverse, created by Canadian artist Emanuel Hahn, which has been a hallmark of the quarter since 1937. The denomination “25 cents” is positioned between the caribou’s antlers, with “CANADA” inscribed to the left and the date “1976” to the right. The obverse side displays a bust of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara, designed by Arnold Machin, with the legend “ELIZABETH II D – G – REGINA.” The coin is composed of 99.9% nickel, weighs approximately 5.05 grams, and has a diameter of 23.88 mm with a reeded edge. In 1976, more than 86 million coins were minted, reflecting a standard circulation issue with brilliant uncirculated finish versions also available for collectors.
