1982 – 10 Cents Dime Canada

The 1982 Canadian 10 cents coin, made of nickel, features on its obverse the bust of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara designed by Arnold Machin, and on the reverse, a stylized image of the famous Bluenose schooner sailing the open sea, designed by Emanuel Hahn to symbolize Canada’s maritime heritage and the fishing industry. The coin has a diameter of 18.03 mm, weighs 2.07 grams, has a reeded edge, and is magnetic. It was minted by the Royal Canadian Mint in a circulation of about 93.9 million coins, and it bears the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II D – G – REGINA” on the obverse and “CANADA 1982 10 CENTS” on the reverse.
