The obverse features a bust of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a circular diamond crown decorated with roses, shamrocks, and thistles, designed by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, while the reverse displays a stylized Canadian coat of arms, designed by Cathy Bursey-Sabourin.
