2020 – 2 Dollars Toonie Canada – Victory Color

The 2020 Canadian $2 Victory coloured coin commemorates the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, paying tribute to the Victory 5-cent coin design by Thomas Shingles. This special collector’s coin features a blue “V” for Victory on the inner core, overlaid with a torch topped by orange and yellow flames, flanked by maple leaves, and the double dates “1945” and “2020” marking the historic anniversary. The outer ring presents the words “VICTORY” and “VICTOIRE” framed by Morse code inscriptions meaning “WE WIN WHEN WE WORK WILLINGLY” and “LA BONNE VOLONTÉ EST GAGE DE VICTOIRE,” with additional inscriptions “REMEMBER” and “SOUVENIR” accompanied by security marks of maple leaves. The obverse showcases the word “CANADA,” the denomination “2 DOLLARS,” and the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. These coins were issued in a limited coloured edition with selective coloring enhancing the reverse design.​
