The 1992 Canadian 25-cent coin for Ontario, issued by the Royal Canadian Mint to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Canada’s Confederation, features on its reverse two Jack pine trees standing resilient among scattered rocks, symbolizing Ontario’s rugged landscape shaped by glaciers and its enduring natural beauty. The obverse bears the first Canadian-designed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Dora de P\u00e9dery-Hunt, showing the queen at age 64 with a new crown and the inscription “ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA.” This coin is part of a series honoring all provinces and territories, with Ontario being one of the original four provinces to form Canada in 1867. The coin is made of 99.9% nickel, weighs 5.05 grams, and has a diameter of 23.88 mm, issued in brilliant uncirculated condition with a mintage of over 14 million pieces.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
