1921 – 1 Cent Canada

The 1921 Canadian 1 cent coin, also known as the small cent, was minted with a composition of 95.5% copper, 3% tin, and 1.5% zinc, weighing 3.24 grams and measuring 19.05 mm in diameter. The obverse features a bust of King George V with the inscription “GEORGIVS V DEI GRATIA : REX ET IND : IMP :”, designed by Sir Edgar Bertram Mackennal. The reverse shows two iconic maple leaves on a twig with the words “CANADA ONE CENT 1921,” designed by Fred Lewis. This coin has a plain edge and medal alignment, was minted by the Royal Canadian Mint, and had a mintage of approximately 7.6 million pieces.
