It features on the obverse the bust of King George VI designed by Thomas Humphrey Paget, and on the reverse, a beaver on a log designed by G. E. Kruger-Gray. The coin is made of 99.9% nickel, is magnetic, and has “GEORGIVS VI D : G : REX ET IND : IMP :” inscribed on the obverse and “5 CENTS CANADA 1946” on the reverse. This coin was minted by the Royal Canadian Mint with a circulation mintage of approximately 6,952,684 pieces.
