The Welmy Six E (Variant A) is a 6×6 cm folding viewfinder-only camera released in 1953 as a development of the original Welmy Six model by Taisei Kōki. It features a more rounded top housing with smaller, square cross-section viewfinder windows surrounded by circular covers. The model name on the top housing is inscribed in cursive script as “Welmy-Six.” This variant is distinguished by circular viewfinder surrounds and is equipped with a Terionar f/3.5 75mm lens in a Taisei Koki Welmy shutter (B, 1-200 shutter speeds). Unlike its predecessor, it omits neck strap loops on the top housing ends but retains front cell focusing for the lens, blending functional medium format photography with a more streamlined and modern design for its time.
