It features on the obverse side the right-profile bust of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara, with the inscription “ELIZABETH II D – G – REGINA,” designed by Arnold Machin. The reverse side shows a stylized image of the famous Canadian schooner Bluenose sailing with tall sails, designed by Emanuel Hahn, surrounded by the letters “CANADA 1968 10 CENTS.” The coin has a reeded edge with flat-bottomed grooves (serrated edge style) which distinguishes it from the Ottawa mint version.
