2005 – 10 Cents Dime Canada

The 2005 Canadian 10-cent coin, commonly called a dime, features a design by artist Emanuel Hahn that depicts the Bluenose schooner, a symbol of Canada’s fishing industry and maritime skill. The coin’s obverse shows an uncrowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse has the iconic stylized image of the Bluenose schooner with its tall sails. The coin is made primarily of steel (92%), with copper (5.5%) and nickel (2.5%) plating, weighing 1.75 grams and having a diameter of 18.03 mm. This design has been in use since 1937, and the 2005 version maintains the traditional elements that reflect Canadian heritage and craftsmanship. The coin was minted in large quantities for circulation in Canada.
