The 2006 Canadian 10-cent coin, also known as the dime, is the smallest Canadian coin by size, measuring 18.03 mm in diameter with a mass of 1.75 grams. It features the famous Bluenose schooner on its reverse, a symbol representing Canada’s fishing industry and maritime heritage, while the obverse displays a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Made primarily of steel with nickel and copper plating, the coin is magnetic. Early 2006 dimes bear a “P” mintmark indicating plating, which was later replaced by the stylized maple leaf mint logo. Around 312 million of these coins were minted in 2006 at the Royal Canadian Mint in Winnipeg.
