2008 – 25 Cents Quarter Canada – Olympic Bobsleigh Commemorative Coin

The 2008 Canadian 25 cents bobsleigh coin, designed by Canadian artist Glen Green of Vancouver, features a depiction of a four-member bobsleigh team and their sled in the center, set against a stylized maple leaf with the inscription “VANCOUVER 2010.” The coin was part of the Royal Canadian Mint’s series honoring the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, celebrating Olympic winter sports. It has a face value of 25 cents, is made of copper-plated steel (94% steel, 3.8% copper, 2.2% nickel), weighs 4.4 grams, and has a diameter of 23.88 mm. The obverse shows an uncrowned bust of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the Olympic Games logo, while the reverse showcases the bobsleigh design. The edge is reeded, and the coin was minted in circulation and uncirculated finishes with a total mintage of about 22.4 million coins.
