2016 – 25 Cents Quarter Canada

The 2016 Canadian 25-cent coin, commonly known as the quarter, features the iconic caribou design by Canadian artist Emanuel Hahn, first introduced in 1937 and representing a majestic left-side profile of a caribou with large antlers. This standard circulation coin is composed of copper-plated steel and bears the uncrowned bust of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, designed by Susanna Blunt. The reverse bears the inscriptions “CANADA,” the year “2016,” and the face value of “25 CENTS.” The coin has a reeded edge, weighs 4.4 grams, and measures 23.88 mm in diameter. A special 5-ounce fine silver version of this coin was also made in 2016 as part of a limited Big Coin Series, showcasing the same caribou design with selective color and a proof finish, emphasizing its status as a collectible piece.
