2017 – 25 Cents Quarter Canada – Hope For Green Future Colored Commemorative Coin

The 2017 Canadian “Hope for a Green Future” commemorative quarter was created as part of the Canada 150 coin collection. Designed by then 8-year-old Joelle Wong, the coin features a pair of hands nurturing a growing plant, symbolizing hope and a call to action for the protection and thriving of Canada’s nature. The design connects all living things, highlighted by the presence of notable Canadian animals decorated with Indigenous art patterns, reflecting the deep connection Canadians have with their abundant natural environment. This quarter celebrates the theme of Canada’s future and the shared responsibility to preserve its plants, animals, and landscapes for generations to come.
