The 2010 Canadian 5-cent coin features the classic beaver design created by artist G.E. Kruger-Gray, depicting a beaver sitting on a wood log with the inscription “CANADA” above and flanked by maple leaves on either side. The obverse side shows the right-profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Dora de Pedry-Hunt and Ago Aarand, inscribed with “ELIZABETH II D – G – REGINA” and marked with the Royal Canadian Mint symbol beneath. The coin is made primarily of steel (94.5%), with copper (3.5%) and nickel plating (2%), weighs 3.95 grams, has a diameter of 21.2 mm, and carries a face value of 5 cents. This coin was minted in a brilliant uncirculated finish and had a large mintage of 126,800,000 pieces in 2010.
