1992 – 25 Cents Quarter Canada – Yukon Commemorative Coin

The 1992 Canadian 25-cent Yukon coin, part of the 125th Anniversary of Confederation series, features a reverse design depicting the Kaskawulsh Glacier, a notable valley glacier descending from the extensive non-polar icefield in Yukon’s Kluane National Park, which is famous for its dramatic landscape and abundant wildlife. The obverse displays the first Canadian-designed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, showing the Queen at age 64, wearing a new crown, with the inscription “ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA.” The coin is composed of 99.9% nickel, weighs 5.05 grams, and has a diameter of 23.88 mm. It was issued in brilliant uncirculated condition and minted to celebrate Canada’s 125th anniversary of confederation in 1992.
