2011 – 25 Cents Quarter Canada

The Canadian 25-cent coin minted in 2011 features the iconic caribou design on the reverse, created by Emanuel Hahn, and shows a left-facing caribou head with the denomination “25 CENTS” between its antlers and “CANADA” inscribed to the side. The obverse displays the uncrowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt, and the coin itself is composed of copper-plated steel (94% steel, 3.8% copper, 2.2% nickel), weighing 4.4 grams and measuring 23.88 mm in diameter with a reeded edge. Struck by the Royal Canadian Mint for circulation, it is magnetic and marked by the traditional “↑↑” medal axis orientation, making it a recognizable and enduring part of Canadian coinage.
