The 1992 Canadian 25-cent coin commemorating New Brunswick, part of the 125th Anniversary of Canada’s Confederation series, features on its reverse the Oldfield Covered Bridge spanning Smith Creek, set against a backdrop of mixed coniferous and deciduous trees. The bridge, located in Newtown and built in 1910, is named after a local mill. The obverse displays the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II at age 64, wearing a new crown, designed by Canadian artist Dora de Pédery-Hunt. This coin was composed mainly of steel with copper and nickel, had a diameter of 23.88 mm, weighed about 4.4 grams, and bore a reeded edge. It was minted in a quantity of approximately 2,174,000 pieces and released in brilliant uncirculated condition by the Royal Canadian Mint as part of a series celebrating each Canadian province and territory.
