The 2000 Canadian Pride 25-cent coin was issued by the Royal Canadian Mint as part of the Millennium celebration series and was released in January 2000. It features a reverse design by Donald F. Warkentin showing the word “PRIDE 2000 FIERTÉ CANADA” encircling a large white maple leaf with three smaller red maple leaves inside it, symbolizing Canadian pride and unity. The obverse shows Queen Elizabeth II’s bust designed by Arnold Machin. The coin’s composition is nickel, weighing 5.05 grams with a diameter of 23.88 mm and a reeded edge, and it is magnetic. The coin was minted in circulation strikes with a large mintage of about 50.7 million coins and also as a coloured special edition with a red highlight, made for collectors and presented in attractive folders
