The 2010 Canadian 25-cent coin was produced in several varieties, most notably featuring the classic caribou design as well as a coloured poppy version commemorating Remembrance Day and the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II. Both coins were made of copper-plated steel, weighed 4.4 grams, and measured 23.88 mm in diameter, showing a reeded edge and magnetic properties. The caribou version displays the uncrowned bust of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt on the obverse, and a caribou head designed by Emanuel Hahn on the reverse, while the poppy coin, designed by Cosme Saffioti, features iconic red poppies around a lady in uniform. These quarters were minted by the Royal Canadian Mint, mainly for circulation, and are recognizable by their dual dates and vivid details that pay tribute to Canada’s heritage and national symbols.
