2015 – 25 Cents Quarter Canada – Poppy Remember Uncolored Commemorative Coin

The 2015 Canadian “Remember” 25 cent coin is a commemorative circulation quarter issued by the Royal Canadian Mint to honor the centenary of Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae’s poem “In Flanders Fields.” The coin’s reverse, designed by artist Tony Bianco, features a large red poppy in the foreground with smaller poppies in the background, symbolizing remembrance; this design appears in two versions: a coloured poppy version and an uncoloured one, with each version minted in about 6.25 million coins. The obverse displays the uncrowned right-profile bust of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt, with the inscription “ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA” and the year “2015.” The reverse also includes the inscriptions “CANADA” and “REMEMBER-SOUVENIR” in a banner at the bottom. The coin is composed of copper-plated steel, weighs 4.4 grams, has a diameter of 23.88 mm, and features a reeded edge.
