2015 – 2 Dollars Toonie Canada – MacDonald

The 2015 Canadian 2 dollar coin commemorating Sir John A. Macdonald celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Canada’s first Prime Minister. Designed by Vancouver artist Glen Green, its reverse features a detailed portrait of Macdonald on the coin’s inner core with a modern map of Canada in the background extending into the outer ring. The outer ring is inscribed with the years “1815” and “2015” alongside micro-engraved maple leaves and laser etching, giving it a distinct and intricate appearance. This coin is part of a limited mintage of five million pieces released by the Royal Canadian Mint as a tribute to Macdonald’s influential role in shaping Canada and its Confederation.
